Volunteer Requirement
Did you know it takes over 40 volunteers to put one swimmer in the water for each swim meet? Last year we had more than 400 volunteer opportunities throughout the swim season. The Splash cannot operate and compete without the support of our parents and families and the commitment and dedication our parent volunteers demonstrate each season is wonderful.
The Splash has a $200 Volunteer Deposit required per family (not per swimmer). The Volunteer Fee appears as a "hold" on the credit used for registration. At the end of the season, the hold will be released for families who fulfill the minimum volunteer requirement and no charge will be assessed. If the volunteer requirement is not met by the end of the season, the Splash will process the $200 volunteer fee using the credit card on file. If the team is unable to process the charge using the card on file, a hold will be placed on the member's swim club account. This fee must be paid prior to registration for the upcoming summer season. Please be assured that the swim team’s goal is to have every family fulfill its volunteer requirement to ensure a smooth and enjoyable season for all our swimmers!
Families with only Mini-Splash swimmers will not be required to provide a Volunteer Deposit, however, are always welcome to volunteer at events during the season.
Volunteer requirements are based on a point system. Any adult family member listed on a swimmer's registration form is welcome to volunteer. Children under the age of 18 are generally not permitted to volunteer, however, the team may provide opportunities for high school students to earn service hours occasionally during the season.
Families with multiple children on the swim team are responsible for the same number of points as a family with only one registered swimmer. The volunteer requirement per family may change slightly as the total number of families signing up for swim team varies each year.
